Hi! We’re the Berry family.
I wanted to take a moment to introduce our family. π Currently we live in Bremerton, WA, but we’ll be moving to Oak Ridge, TN in the next month or so. We have loved living in Washington, but we’re excited to be moving to Tennessee and be closer to some of my siblings!
A Brief Intro
I’ll start with a brief introduction. I grew up in a small town in Idaho and came from a big family. I have 7 siblings, though we never all lived at home together. It makes for fun family reunions, with lots of chatter and late nights! I went to school at Idaho State University, where I ended up meeting my husband in a physics class. We got married the following summer before we started our junior year of college.
We lived in Idaho Falls for our junior year of school, and we moved back to Pocatello for our senior year. In May of 2023, we graduated together, before moving out to Bremerton for Matt’s job. We have enjoyed living here, though it is sometimes a little bit of a tight budget on a single income!

Vivi was born in late 2023, so she’s a year and a half now. Vivi is a bundle of energy, who loves bubbles, water, and any type of sweet treat! She loves to help, and tries to help with unloading the dishwasher, doing the laundry, and sometimes even picks up her toys. She’s also getting interested in the potty, which is both adorable and frustrating at times. Swimming is Vivi’s new favorite activity, and we love playing in the pool with her!
A Few Other Things
There’s a few other things I wanted to note about our family! We love to try new things (when we have the money for it if required). Recently, we went to the Tacoma Museum of Glass, which was really cool! The Chihuly Exhibit was our favorite, and we would love to go to the Chihuly Garden and Glass in Seattle, but I don’t think we’ll make it over before we move.

We also like go camping, though we haven’t been much since we got married. We’ve been slowing gathering enough equipment to go without borrowing anything! Hiking is our way to get out into the forest, bonus… it’s free! And it requires a lot less planning on my part. π
I try to make a lot of our food from scratch! It’s a little kinder on the wallet, and I just like the taste better. I make all of our bread, and any cookies, brownies, etc. Matt and I are trying to eat better recently, so we throw most of our sweet treats in the freezer and just not make them as much. I want to try getting into sourdough to fill some the baking creative outlet need!
A note with baking, I remember spending many a day with my mom in the kitchen growing up. She actually has a food blog that you can check out here.
Perhaps more obviously, I started writing a blog! I am usually not great at continuing things after I start them, but I want to keep strong with this one! Hopefully, I can branch out enough to not end up with writer’s block too bad.
Conclusion
I’m sure I missed a lot stuff about our family, but hopefully, this gives you a bit of insight into who we are! I would love to hear any questions you have about us! As I work on more posts, I hope you get to know me better and we can become great friends. π Until next time!

Aww, thanks!
Sourdough is always intimidating to me. I’d love to hear how it goes when you try it!
I finally made it back onto my blog! I think my starter that I’ve been working on is ready, so I’ll try it this week!
